I’m Keara, and I’m glad you decided to stop by.
I officially started Honey and Vine Photography in late 2019 after years (decades, actually) of practicing photography as a hobby. I’m an Army brat and an Air Force wife, so I know all too well that life passes by quickly and waits for no one. When I had my daughter, it lit a fire in my heart. It became my mission to capture life’s little moments so I would never forget them. As I like to say, babies don’t keep.
Over time, that passion (okay fine, obsession) with capturing memories of my daughter’s infancy expanded to helping mothers and families everywhere take a snapshot of their life as it is right now–messy, beautiful, imperfect, and overflowing with love–so that they can have something to remember fondly forever.
The Honey and Vine Photography style encapsulates everything that I love about motherhood and family. It’s not about everything being picture perfect, it’s about finding and embracing the beauty in the madness. My photography radiates warmth, intimacy, and the wild, untamed love that comes with being a mother, a child, a father, or a lover. I encourage my clients to be themselves in front of the camera, and help them open up even when they’re feeling a bit camera shy at first. After all, the magic of photography is in capturing authenticity, not in forcing perfection.
More than anything, I consider myself a storyteller. Mamas and their kin are my bread and butter–I would spend all day every day documenting the love between a mother and her child if I could. But I love capturing moments between families of all kinds–by blood, by marriage, or by choice.
